The ACTS Student Honor Society Int’l will recognize

and honor the positive merits exhibited by students,

teachers, administrators, Christian leaders, and parents

involved in education that is Apostolic in doctrine,

Pentecostal in experience, and Christian in lifestyle.​

​

The ACTS Student Honor Society Int’l is established to promote excellence in academics, character, Christian testimony and service.  It strives to strengthen leadership qualities, recognize accomplishments, and help students set a standard of excellence to which others that follow can reach to attain.

The ACTS Student Honor Society Int’l believes in integrity, equality, justice, and truth, based on the Principles of the Word of God, and has established the Four Keys of Excellence as the membership guide.

INDUCTION QUALIFICATIONS

          The ACTS Student Honor Society Int’l can be entered by students in grades 5-12 (grades 5-9 for Junior Division; grades 9-12 for Senior Division) in an ACTS member school or homeschool, by achieving and maintaining the recommended standards described in the Four Keys of Excellence.

FOUR KEYS OF EXCELLENCE

​

A – Achievement in Academics

​

A recommended 3.0 (GPA) or better required and maintained by the student through the first grading period.  This grade average must be maintained.  If, for any reason, the grade average drops below 3.0, the student is on SHS academic probation, and has one grading period to restore the 3.0 minimum.  If the 3.0 is not maintained after the probationary period, the HONORS pin must be returned to the SHS officers.  Exception: a Senior who in on AHA

Academic probation in the last half of the school year may keep the HONORS pin, provided his or her average during the four years of high school prior to the probationary period is a least 3.0.

​

The student must memorize and be prepared to quote, Proverbs 2:1-2 and II Timothy 2:15.

​

C – Character that is Christian

​

Two letters of recommendation regarding the SHS applicant’s character must be received from adults not in the immediate family of the student; one of the two letters regarding the character of the student should be received from his Pastor (even if the Pastor is also the parent of the student).

​

The student must have an excellent Character record in the school.  Should the student fail to maintain an “excellent” Christian Character and Conduct rating, the student is on SHS probation, and will have one grading period to re-establish the “excellent” standing with the school.  In the event that a Senior, in the final grading period of the school year, is on SHS Character probation, he or must return the HONORS pin to the SHS officers.

Must memorize, and be prepared to quote I Timothy 4:12.

 

T - Testimony/Leadership

​

The student must have had a personal experience with Jesus Christ and produce a paper explaining the same, including how this experience prepares them for Christian leadership.

​

The student’s pastor, or other recognized minister, must confirm the student’s testimony of experience by signing his name to student’s testimony paper.

​

Must memorize and be prepared to quote II Corinthians 1:12 and Revelation 12:10-11.

​

S – Service 

​

The student must have a documented record of service to others, such as helping in a local church, hospital, nursing home, community project, etc., and produce a listing of such service provided during the previous 12 months.

​

SHS students must provide, at the end of each grading period, proof of continued service efforts.

​

Must memorize and be prepared to quote Galatians 5:13.

RECOGNITION

​

The Student Honor Society Int’l achievement of this award shall be recorded on the students’ permanent records.

​

The student shall receive an ACTS Student Honor Society Int’l Certificate and shall be awarded the HONORS PIN, during a special student body meeting.  [The Honors Pin is a gold pin engraved with the words HONOR Society and the letters ACTS.  Both the Certificate and the Honors Pin are available through the Association.]

​​

The IAAE will list the names and schools in a Student Honor Society Directory for all SHS award members.

SCHOLAR'S GUILD:

The Scholars' Guild is a directory of Apostolic scholars who are recognized, awarded and/or credentialed in their fields. Those inducted into te Scholar's Guild will be eligible to be on the expert review panel for the Apostolic Core Knowledge Handbook which is public trust.

The Educational Consultants' Guild is a directory where members, schools and institutions can call to
hire consultants or choose experts to answer questions that may arise. It also includes those who are available to coach or tutor students in grades PreK-12th.
